How many letters?

Come to think of it, how long has it been since you received a letter? One of those letters written by hand, with lots of stamps and postmarks? Think carefully. And try to remember the feeling you had when you opened it, the pleasure of pouring over the first few lines. Your mind might conjure up the person who took the trouble to; a) write down their thoughts; b) put them into a complete and grammatically acceptable form; c) buy an envelope; d) buy a stamp; e) attach the stamp and send it.
